Refinishing is not painting over the problem. We take the door off, strip it back to bare wood, and sand out the grey, the raised grain and whatever the last finish left behind. Only then does colour go on: stain worked into the timber so the grain shows, not a coat sitting on top hiding it.

Over that go multiple coats of a clear finish rated for exterior use. That is the layer doing the actual work — the stain is colour, the clear coat is protection. Skimping there is the single most common reason a refinished door looks tired again in two summers.

The whole job happens on your driveway, under cover, and the door goes back on its hinges the same visit. You are never left with an open doorway or a sheet of plywood where your entry used to be. Metal doors get the same treatment with products made for steel rather than timber.
