Door Refinishing in Cypress
Cypress grew fast, and a lot of it grew at once. That means whole streets where the houses are the same age, with the same doors, hitting the same problems in the same year. We have been out to neighbours on the same block in the same week more than once.
The recurring issue here is rot at the bottom of the door and at the base of the jamb. Shallow porches, sprinklers hitting the entry, and water pooling on a flat step all push moisture into the same place. By the time the finish looks bad, the timber underneath often needs work.
That is a two-part job and we do both: cut out and rebuild the rotten timber, then strip and refinish the whole door so the repair disappears. Sealing a good finish over soft wood just hides it for a season.
